General Duty Assistants (GDA)

Description: General Duty Assistants (GDAs) GDAs usually work in a hospital environment but may work at homes of sick patients and may be called by similar names such as Orderlies, Nursing Assistants, Nursing Aides or Bedside Assistants. Internationally, they are usually called Nursing Assistants or Patient Care Assistants. They work in collaboration with (and usually under the supervision of) doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers to deliver the prescribed healthcare services to their patients. As they deal with patients, essential qualities include an orientation to service, empathy, basic communication skills and the ability to follow orders and behave ethically.
Eligiblity: 10+2/BA/BSc.
Scope of work : Hospitals, nursing homes, standalone clinics and diagnostic labs
Career Prospects: A GDA can work in many areas in a healthcare setting like surgery centers, hospitals, Nursing home Doctor Clinic home Healthcare etc.
Salary: The salary range differs as per the workplace but the average salary ranges from around 1.8 lakh to 2.4 lakh per annum.
